Margarite's Hot Tamales opened their doors in January 2009, after its founders Jimmy and Margarite Lawrence decided that after 30 years it was time! Mr. Jimmy, also know as "The Tamale Man" decided to name his tamales after his wife, Margarite. He began making these delicious hot tamales many years ago first for family and then for friends. It was not long before friends of friends and friends of friends of friends started asking "How can I get some of your hot tamales, Mr. Jimmy?" Well, recently the time was right so, Mr. Jimmy and Margarite (his wife now of 50 years) asked their daughter Jaime to start setting up a business, so that all of Mr. Jimmy's friends would always be able to bring some of his famous Margarite's Hot Tamales home for supper!
